Helping Kids Love Healthy Meals

It can be a struggle getting kids to eat a well-balanced meal, filled with food rich in vitamins and nutrients they need. Trying new food or even revisiting food your kids have turned down in the past shouldn’t be a battle. Here are a few tips to minimize the stress and put the fun back in mealtime.

Make Meals Interesting

Meals are more appealing to kids when their food is cut into fun shapes and sizes and is colorful. Consider how you’re presenting food on the plate and make it eye catching. Try these recipes or come up with your own design based on your kids’ interests:

    They learn how to cook. It gives them ideas for healthy habits. Besides reading, and math to make the recipes.

    Face Time! Get kids enjoying veggies. I often put together a colorful group of prewashed, cut veggies with at least one fruit option. (Simple Slicer, Veggie Spiralizer, & Quick Slice makes for super-fast prep!😍) Store in the fridge, ready to go in prep bowls or my Cool & Serve tray. Then, when snack time, or pre-dinner munchies come, give each child or adult a solid-colored plate, and encourage them to make a face (or do it for them ahead) for eating!
