5 Dessert Recipes for Spring

In a long and dark season, a promised spring not too far away sounds wonderful. We suspect we’re not the only ones who are looking forward to finding reasons to celebrate the changing of the seasons. And, what better way to celebrate than with something sweet? Extra points if it pairs well with Champagne.

1. Easy Strawberry Shortcake

This strawberry shortcake is a take on classic cobbler that features cinnamon and sugar-topped baking powder biscuits over a citrusy-sweet mash of strawberries. Even better, you can cook the strawberries and bake the biscuits in one pan. Serve with ice cream or homemade whipped cream. The combination of fresh, seasonal strawberries and bright lemon juice make this a sweet and surprisingly easy addition to any spring event.

2. Upside-Down Caramelized Banana Skillet Cake

The look of this cake is gasp-worthy, and your guests will love the rich flavor of caramelized bananas. The technique is simple: Slice the bananas thin and caramelize them in butter and brown sugar in a skillet, then top with a banana-heavy batter and bake. The cake’s golden, caramelized top is a true showstopper.

3. Coconut Tres Leches Cake

For the coconut lover. We lightened up this easy microwave cake—flavored with Mexican tres leches, which means three milks. The recipe uses lite coconut milk and Greek yogurt instead of heavier ingredients, giving you a party-perfect dessert that still feels like an indulgence. Garnish with fresh berries for a pop of color.

4. Chocolate Pull-Apart Bread With Blueberry Sauce

This grown-up take on classic monkey bread is baked in a pretty fluted pan and served with a creamy blueberry sauce that’s quick to make but packs a punch. Guests dip the chocolatey, crusty bread sections in the decadent sauce, fondue style.

5. Chocolate Peanut Butter Bundt Cake

Savory nut butter and a chocolate drizzle is a classic for a reason: The combination is irresistible. In this recipe, you’ll spike vanilla cake mix with creamy peanut butter and dot it with chocolate chips. Drizzle a simple glaze over the top for an extra hit of chocolate in each bite.
