7. Large Salads Stay Fresh

Whether you’re serving a big salad for a party or an outdoor dinner, you’ll want it to stay garden-fresh. The Open Tray insert transforms the Large Square Cool & Serve into a serving platter, perfect for salads like the bright, summery Ribboned Melon & Chicken Salad. You can also use without the cooling inserts if not needed.

8. Make-Ahead Salad Bar

You’re more likely to eat a healthy salad if you have everything you need in one place. Just fill each section with your favorite salad ingredients—diced cucumbers, tomatoes, carrot rounds, pepper slices, zucchini noodles, broccoli florets—whatever you like. Then you’ll be able to easily throw together a healthy salad in no time!

9. Kid-Friendly Healthy Snacks

Kids need after-school snacks to keep them focused and fueled for homework and activities. Fill the Large Square Cool & Serve with healthy snacks that they can grab quickly— strawberry halves, blueberries, clementine segments, starfruit, baby carrots, whole-wheat pitas, hummus, cheese sticks, granola, and yogurt are favorites. On the go? The cooling inserts will keep snacks cool in the car.

11. Tailgate Snacks

Fill up with an assortment of pretzels, chips, and dips. Your savory dips will stay fresh and cool during the big game.

Take out all the inserts and you have a handy carrier for cupcakes, cookies, brownies, and other baked goods. The clear lid and base of the tray snap together, so it keeps the goodies protected during transport.

13. Grocery Store Runs

Keep the cooling inserts in your freezer so they’re ready to go for grocery runs. They’ll keep refrigerated and frozen foods chilled—great if you have errands before heading home. Just pop back in the freezer when you get home.

I discovered that I had one of these when cleaning out my closets, and I had never used it. I got it out and used it right away to bring something to a party. Now I have lots of good ideas, and I will use it more often. Can I order the carrying case I see in the photos?

What’s the secret to NOT having your deviled eggs freeze to the bottom of the egg wells? Has happened each time I’ve prepared the eggs and then put them immediately in the container before taking to an event. They have sat in the fridge like that for a couple of hours. Don’t like crunchy frozen bottoms to my eggs. 🙁

    • Laura January 25, 2018 at 5:51 pm #

Amy I don’t know if anyone answered this. I don’t like deviled eggs at all, but have you tried putting any oil in the bottom of the wells? Like a spray or light application?

    • Marianne April 24, 2019 at 7:31 am #

Sorry that your eggs froze. I’ve had mine for many years, and made countless deviled eggs and have never ever had them freeze or be crunchy.

I have had this item for years and love it and friends who see it want it too. So it’s been a great wedding or birthday gift to several friends.

FYI, it would be nice if we could print these tips off without the pictures. Some times I would like to give it with the gift so they know just how versatile this product is! Please let me know if you can provide a better printable version like other websites do for recipes, etc.

  17. Debbie Jones July 12, 2017 at 11:16 am #

Love this product and have given to friends as gifts many times. Can you please allow us to print from a printable version of these tips and without pictures if possible?

  18. Linda May 13, 2019 at 6:10 am #

Does the egg plate have water in it. Mine seems to have liquid in it.

  19. Lanie June 17, 2019 at 10:39 pm #

Another idea: toppings for a baked potato bar

Or toppings for a MYO pizza party

Years ago I purchased this metal round lid that you would put in your pasta water and it would not boil over. Is this item still available?

    • KIm July 31, 2019 at 11:47 am #

No it isn’t . But they have a newer version called boil over no more in 2 sizes . They are constructed of a silicone material. Look it up on pamperedchef.com Have a great day!
