How to Get the Most Out of Your Deluxe Multi Cooker

Did you know that our Deluxe Multi Cooker has 16 programmed settings? That’s right; it’s a sous vide cooker, pressure cooker, yogurt maker, and steamer all in one! It cooks everything from meat, rice, and beans to desserts without guesswork. Here’s what you can do with each preset.

1. Custom Setting

Whenever you want to cook chicken, boil potatoes, or prepare flan, you can use the Custom setting to control the pressure level. Depending on what you’re preparing, you can choose pressure levels from 1–7 (7 is high).  Try out the Custom setting tonight by making Pressure Cooker Chicken Parmesan Pasta. Made with tender chicken and our tasty Garlic & Herb Rub, this delicious dish will become a quick family favorite you can easily make again and again.

2. Egg Setting

Do you have a hard time making hard-boiled eggs? With the Egg setting, you can make perfect easy-to-peel hard-boiled eggs every single time. They’ll not only be easy to peel, but they’ll also have a rich, creamy texture that’ll go well with salads, sandwiches, and more! And when you use the Silicone Egg Bites Mold in the Deluxe Multi Cooker, you can also make Sous Vide Egg Bites, which are perfect for busy mornings.

3. Poultry Setting

You can cook 2–4 pounds of boneless chicken breasts in about 12 minutes with the Poultry setting. All you have to do is add your chicken (or turkey) to the inner pot with some water, broth, or sauce. Then, lock the lid, select the Poultry setting, and set the time as needed. Your cook time will depend on the portion and size of the chicken that you’re preparing. Once your poultry is thoroughly cooked, add it to salads, soups, pasta, or Pressure Cooker Mediterranean Chicken & Rice Bowls for a filling feast.

4. Beef/Pork Setting

Did you forget to thaw your ground beef, sirloin steak, or pork tenderloin for tonight’s dinner? No worries! You can add frozen meat right to the Deluxe Multi Cooker and cook it fast. After you add a bit of water, broth, or liquid to the inner pot with your meat and select the Beef/Pork setting, the Deluxe Multi Cooker will slowly build pressure and create steam, which enhances the flavor and texture of your meat as it cooks. Try this technique out by making a Pressure Cooker Barbacoa Burrito Bowl With Cilantro-Lime Rice. We promise your beef chuck will turn out tender, tangy, and ripe with flavor!

5. Seafood Setting

Preparing any kind of seafood can be intimidating because it’s very easy to overcook and dry it out. Our Seafood setting ensures that never happens by ensuring it cooked evenly inside and out. Use it to cook everything from salmon filets to Pressure Cooker Shrimp & Grits for a busy weeknight meal.

6. White Rice Setting

Whether you eat rice once a month or multiple times a week, the White Rice setting is a game changer! You can use it to make any kind of white rice―basmati, jasmine, and even long-grain―in just four minutes! Imagine how fast you can have something like Pressure Cooker Cilantro-Lime Rice on the table!

7. Whole Grain Setting

The Whole Grain setting lets you sit back and relax whenever you need to make quinoa, millet, or couscous. Instead of having to stand over a boiling pot of water and constantly stir your ingredients, all you have to do is put your grains, some water, and a little bit of oil in the inner pot, lock the lid, and press a button. That’s it! Now you can make side dishes like Pressure Cooker Brown Rice Pilaf without breaking a sweat.

8. Soup Setting

Have you ever made soup from scratch before? With the Soup setting, you can turn any leftover carrots, celery, and onion into a tasty homemade soup. Just add all your fresh veggies, canned beans, and vegetable broth to the Deluxe Multi Cooker and it will do all the rest. This Soup setting will cook the veggies through and bring the broth to a slow and steady simmer. And then, in just one hour, you can enjoy a comforting bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup or something more exotic like Pressure Cooker Tuscan Bean Soup!

9. Bean Setting

If you’re in a hurry to prepare a satisfying side dish, the Beans setting comes in handy! You can cook canned beans or fresh legumes in record time. Check out this chart to see just how long you need to make the best tasting beans.

10. Dessert Setting

Thanks to the Dessert setting, making the “perfect” cheesecake is no longer a challenging process. The Deluxe Multi Cooker not only provides the perfect baking environment for cheesecake, but it also adds the right amount of heat, pressure, and steam so your cheesecake will always turn out smooth, rich, and creamy! Impress your family and friends by making a Pressure Cooker Strawberry Cheesecake or Lemon-Raspberry Cheesecake With Raspberry Whipped Cream tonight.

11. Steam Setting

Use the Steam setting to perfectly steam and cook almost any veggie for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. By adding just 1 cup (250 mL) of water to the inner pot, you can quickly cook hard veggies like artichokes, russet potatoes, and acorn squash with ease. Check out this chart to find out how long you need to steam specific veggies.

12. Sterilize Setting

Want to make sure utensils and baby bottles are really, REALLY clean? Our Sterilize setting was made with you in mind! With this setting, you can sterilize most ceramic, silicone, and metal items. While some glass items are approved for use on the sterilize function of the Deluxe Multi Cooker (such as 1-cup Prep Bowls!), sterilizing mason jars in the cooker hasn’t been tested/approved for canning.

13. Sear Setting

Searing is the secret ingredient to a lot of tried-and-true recipes. It builds great flavor by just browning the meat, which creates a browned crust and a nice, crisp texture. Well, lucky for you, the Sear preset can do all that and more! It has three different settings―low, medium, and high―which allow you to sweat veggies (on low), sauté stir-fries (on medium), and sufficiently brown steak (on high). Use this setting to make a crowd-pleasing meal (like Pressure Cooker Thai Coconut Soup) or put the perfect finishing touches on flank steak.

14. Slow Cook Setting

Use the Slow Cook setting to make a meaty meal that’s tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Just add your ingredients in the morning and let it cook for a few hours. At the end of the day, you’ll be rewarded with a flavorful, tender one-pot meal! You can try out this setting tonight by making Pressure Cooker Butter Chicken, which includes a spiced tomato, butter, and cream sauce served with chunks of chicken and basmati rice.

Something to keep in mind when you’re using an appliance that has both slow cooker and pressure cooker functions, is that the container is made from metal instead of ceramic or stoneware like a traditional slow cooker. Much like needing to alter recipes slightly when you’re transferring a conventional oven recipe to an air fryer, you may need to pay extra attention to the cooking time when making a slow cooker recipe in the Deluxe Multi Cooker for the first time. We’ve found that having time for an extra 1-2 hours that first time lets us establish the correct timing.

If you have frozen meat, use a pressure cooker setting rather than slow cooking. Frozen meat will function like an ice cube in your appliance, keeping everything cooler, longer—not what you want when you need to get dinner on the table! And, the temperature is low enough, that food can have time to spoil as it heats since slow cooking takes many hours even with food that isn’t frozen.

15. Sous Vide Setting

When you use the Sous Vide preset, you can ensure that every part of your meat and veggies―inside and out, top to bottom―cook to the same temperature and texture. That means no more undercooked centers with overcooked outsides! You can cook chicken breasts, prepare vibrant veggies, and even tenderize tougher cuts of meat to make meals that look as good as they taste (like Sous Vide New York Strip).

Forget to take your meat out of the freezer ahead of time? We recommend using a pressure cooker setting. Sous vide cooking brings your food to a precise, even temperature throughout but it will take more time and can produce lackluster results if the food you’re cooking starts at a very cold or uneven (partially frozen) temperature. If you decide you must sous vide frozen meat, add an additional 50% of the cook time to the timer. For example, if the original cook time is two hours, add an additional hour for a total of three hours. Bottom line, if you’re making the time for sous vide cooking, you have high expectations for your meal—and starting from frozen may leave you disappointed with the results.

16. Yogurt Setting

With just a few ingredients and a couple minutes of prep, you can make creamy, rich yogurt with the Yogurt setting. You can use it to make all kinds of yogurt with cow’s milk, coconut milk, and more! Check out this article to discover all the different types of yogurt you can make with this ingenious setting.

The rice pilaf recipe goes to a link to use the Quick cooker, not the multi cooker. Can you advise the best way to cook brown rice in the MC?

    • Susan May 10, 2022 at 7:13 am #

I use the whole grain setting and increase the time to 15 minutes.

Cooking sous vide but it stays on “add” and won’t switch to timer for cooking. It worked the first couple times but not now. Thoughts?

    • Coryn August 22, 2022 at 4:19 pm #

I’m having the same issue with the Sous vide setting staying on “add” and not switching to the timer for cooking. Was there a resolution for this?

      • Terry December 20, 2022 at 4:59 pm #

Me too. It says press and hold in the directions.

    • Cathy September 9, 2022 at 12:53 pm #

I had that problem and realized I was holding the button down, but in this case, you’re just supposed to press it. I’m not sure if this was the same problem as yours.

      • Jennifer September 4, 2023 at 12:46 pm #

We had the same issue. The instructions say to press and hold, but you need to press it quickly and release. At least, that was the issue we had with it.

What are the pressure (PSI) levels for each level 1 – 7?

  6. Katherine May 28, 2022 at 5:48 am #

I have the original Quick Cooker. Of course I see improvements in this model, but I want to know how to make yogurt in my original style pressure cooker. I paid a lot of money for it, and am not able to replace it. Can anyone help with advice on what settings to use?

    • Chelsea June 7, 2022 at 3:45 pm #

You would use the proof setting! 6 hours then another 2
I used a bottle of the fairlife ultra filtered milk and then you just need 2 TBSP of plain yogurt with active cultures in it! You just whisk in the yogurt in with the milk and then set it on the proof setting!

      • Susie Swaner July 28, 2022 at 8:20 pm #

        I feel the same way.

    • Susie July 28, 2022 at 8:23 pm #

Same with me. I’m not buying another small appliance, but it would be neat to try the yogurt. Yogurt turns me off but a friend at work made some in her Instant pot and I actually liked it.

Has anyone used the quick cooker to fry yeast donuts or any other foods? What settings did you use? How did they turnout? Thinking I could use a custom setting to bring the oil to my desired temp. I’m thinking of using the quick cooker because the sides are high and the temp could be controlled. Thanks for your input

Is there a book with recipes for the multicooker instead of having to go on line?

    • Judy September 20, 2022 at 4:16 pm #

Yes. A book comes with the product.

  11. Pat Cleveland August 24, 2022 at 10:06 am #

I am interested in the Deluxe Multi Cooker and would like to know if there is a book that comes with it on what settings to use for certain items or just in general?

    • Chelsea August 28, 2022 at 6:39 pm #

There is a guide it comes with for recipes and different setting for different foods!

  12. Deanne November 7, 2022 at 12:42 am #

What temperature is the yogurt setting? I want to make a fermented drink but the wrong temp will kill it.

  13. Victor December 4, 2022 at 1:54 pm #

On Multi Cooker Deluxe/ Do you have Info on how to adjust the settings? A picture would be beneficial along with specific instructions. Is it push the dial or push and hold the dial or what? Do you have an owner’s manual? You know, a ‘booklet’ that shows and indicates step by step exactly how to operate the cooker?

I’m having difficulty with yeast rolls/bread. I’m proofing it on the yogurt cycle. It looks and smells amazing. The texture is Perfect! The problem is the taste is not there. The flavor is very bland. All the ingredients are properly added and measured. We’ve done it multiple times and our methods improve each time but the flavor isn’t there. Our house is too cold for the dough to rise without the assistance of the machine. Any suggestions?

  16. Terry January 15, 2023 at 11:03 pm #

Brandy I know when I make bread if the flavor is lacking next time I add more Salt. It enhances the flavor!

I’m having a difficult time on the Sous Vide option. Why does it take so long for the cooker to reach 149 degrees? It has been over an hour and the face of the machine still says ‘run’.
