Fresh Takes on Mealtime

Small Appliances

When you feel tired instead of inspired but everyone’s hungry, rest assured a mealtime win is within easy reach.

Give Leftovers a Makeover

Leftovers are tricky. Sometimes they’re tolerated, often they’re wasted. Here’s an idea: Instead of thinking of them as leftovers, think of them as ingredients. With leftover rice, beans, or meat, you can make tasty burritos in no time. When you have a package of tortillas, cheese, and a jar of sauce, think individual pizzas and let everyone choose their own toppings. Or, you can turn leftover rotisserie chicken, a jar of roasted red peppers or artichoke hearts, and cheese into epic paninis.

Make it a New Way

We all have our go-to dishes, but after all the cooking we’ve done lately, they might feel a little tired. A simple way to change things up is cooking them in a new way. If steaming veggies sounds blah, roast them instead for an amazing sweetness and a crispy outside. Who knew veggies could be a guilty pleasure? Or, make a quick dinner by toasting ravioli instead of boiling it, then serve with warm marinara for dipping. The kids will love it!

Load Up on Seasonal Produce

Each season, we’re blessed with an array of vibrant produce, making it easy to rework a meal or snack to include something fresh. Have fun experimenting with flavor combos for custom, additive-free jams, soups, smoothies, and baby foods. You can turn overripe fruit and veggies into something delicious. For veggie-averse kids, you can add veggie purees to pasta sauce with no drama. A bunch of strawberries in a frozen daiquiri can be the cherry on top of your day.

Take the Pressure Off

You know the feeling—staring into the refrigerator hoping you’ll be able to throw something together that won’t taste terrible. When that happens, stick to two courses, a main, and a side (or a main and a dessert, no judging here). Chicken and rice, fish and quinoa, and ribs and corn are ideal pairs, so no need to mess with perfection. Whatever combo you choose, you can easily switch up flavors with a well-stocked pantry of seasonings, rubs, and sauces.
