Healthy Snack Ideas [Video]

In this episode of “In the Kitchen With Pampered Chef,” Sandy explains how making your favorite snacks at home ensures that they use all the ingredients you want, with nothing you don't. Learn how to make crispy, delicious homemade chips without deep frying, and how to get your kids to eat fruit with a little extra protein. She also uses shared ingredients like pecans and dried cherries to make homemade granola, popcorn trail mix, and Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Bars. Looking for a way to snack better this year? Sandy has you covered!

If you want to make amazing homemade chips, use a Simple Slicer to easily get fruits or vegetables sliced thinly and evenly for perfectly crisp chips. V-Shaped Baking Pans provide larger surface areas for baking your chips than regular baking sheets.

Making your own yogurt bars, granola bars—or even chocolate bars—means you control the ingredients and you get to supply the creativity. The Snack Bar Maker is made of silicone which lets you make snack bars that go in the freezer or get baked in your oven.

Quick Stovetop Granola
Quick Stovetop Granola

This granola recipe comes together quickly on your stovetop. By making it yourself, you control the amount of sugar and the mix-ins. Try using coconut oil, olive oil, or butter in place of canola oil. Almonds, cashews, walnuts, pepitas, or sunflower seeds can be used instead of pecans, and the cherries can be swapped out for other dried fruits such as raisins or cranberries.

There are just four ingredients in these frozen yogurt bars and they’re perfect for everything from snacks to desserts or even a quick on-the-go breakfast.

Like all the recipes in this episode, go ahead and experiment with adding your own toppings and fruit.

My adult son is still living at home while he finishes college, and I love having these ideas for snacks, as is seems he’s always hungry. Thanks, so much!
